About The Sunny Field

A family-friendly, off-grid camping and glamping site surrounded by the idyllic countryside of the Kent Downs and easy reach from the coast. You're also close to walking and cycling routes on the nearby North Downs Way. Welcoming tents and campervans (in their own dedicated zone), the camping pitches are set on an 8-acre car-free meadow. There is plenty of space with a range of pitch sizes to suit most guests, and as car-free camping, wheelbarrows are provided for ease. Pitches also include a fire pit for those looking to toast marshmallows as the sun goes down. If you're looking for a bit of luxury on your camping holiday, stay in one of the 5m bell tents. Each one has its own unique interior with exciting themes ranging from 'Alice in Wonderland to 'Under the Sea'. Inside, the bell tents are furnished with fresh bed linen and come with everything you need, including a gas stove. Don't forget to bring your toothbrush and towels. Children can run free, and dogs are welcome. The site can accommodate groups together, including glampers and campervans.

The site is open for the late May bank holiday and half term then for weekends between 14th June and 16th September.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2024

A beautiful campsite with lots of space and tall grass between the pitches. The facilities were wonderful, we had a great pizza from the pizza oven on Friday and delicious home roasted coffees in the mornings. We bought some coffee beans to take home with us. The surrounding countryside has some great walks, villages and pubs. The toilets and showers were clean and easy to use. A very family friendly campsite but pretty quiet in the evenings.

Wonderful campsite!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesMay 2024

Simply beautiful site, one of the best we've stayed at… and we've stayed at a lot! The camping field was gorgeous and the pitches were all very large, with lots of space for playing games and BBQing. The arrival was simple, the car park is at the entrance of the field, we had a warm welcome and then loaded our kit into wheelbarrows to take it to the pitch. Only a short walk and the fact that there are no cars around the site means it's great for the kids to play safely. The horse box shower was novel! Very clean and lots of hot water. The compost toilets were always very clean and well serviced with lots of toilet roll and sawdust! We got logs from the reception and were able to make a fire at the pitch, which was lovely for the evenings. We also ordered pizzas on the Saturday night, which were excellent, really tasty and a treat whilst camping. Location wise, the site is in the middle of nowhere (a good thing) of the beautiful Kent countryside. We had a lovely day out in Whitstable, which was only 40 mins away, and Canterbury was only about 20 mins. So a really good base for exploring Kent. Overall, this was a fabulous site and we will definitely visit again.

Great trip

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023

We had a lovely time at The Sunny Field. We went as a new family of four. There were a few other new babies that we noticed and our 4 year old had plenty of children to play with. The facilities are basic but clean. The campsite was very peaceful and the location is fabulous. We visited the lower leas coastal park one day, Canterbury on another day and also went to Lydden Hill to watch some car racing. The coffee is fab too 👍🏼
