Small Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024
Perfect campsite for our first camping trip as a couple.
Wish we were able to stay longer to explore more, it was that perfect.
Despite the heavy rain in the evening it was still a calm and welcoming energy.

Bell Tent - Bell Tents (Dog Friendly)Aug 2024
We had initially booked for Monday to Sunday in a bell tent. This worked out at £80 per night. We called on the Friday prior to our stay to see if we could arrive a day or two earlier. They were able to offer the Sunday night at a cost of £120. We accepted this but I do not know how they justify the difference in cost.
The bell tents are convenient but the beds are basic. The fold out beds are a little flat/thin.
That being said, the campsite is in a lovely location and the staff are friendly. The farm shop is useful but expensive. The firewood is fairly priced. We were a family of two adults and two children, staying in one of their bell tents.
The shower/ toilet blocks require guests to clean down after use. This is fine but relies on everyone being courteous. We liked that the site didn't allow music but we were woken before 7am on 5 of the 7 mornings by dogs barking. Arguably, this wasn't the fault of the campsite but was still frustrating. The washing up facilities were good but the sinks were a little too high.
I would stay there again but I'd take my own tent - I wouldn't pay for a bell tent.
Site's response
Slightly disappointed in some of your comments, it does generally seem that way when the weather is wet and windy :-) As you say, we went out of our way to get you in on a bank holiday weekend, the busiest day of the year when prices are higher. We also actually put up another tent for your convenience, this was the cost per night for the bank holiday.
I'm not sure what you found expensive in the shop, so can't comment, but the girls in the shop work very hard to provide fresh food and homemade cakes which most find priced fairly. They aren't in the position to price the same as Tesco and wouldn't want to supply similar cheap foods.
The showers and toilets are cleaned at least 3 times a day, not requiring guest to clean themselves. Antibacterial spray is left in all cubicles for your convenience, giving you a choice of an extra clean before and after use. I'm sure you must have seen the cleaners in at some time?
As you say, you would come again, so I suppose it couldn't have been too bad :-)
