If you fancy glamping, there are three enticing pods here that are sure to tempt you. All pods include their own private kitchen, with an electric hob, microwave, fridge and toaster so that you can rustle up something tasty. Comfortable and beautifully furnished, they offer warmth, dryness and a touch of glam in these lovely surroundings. All the pods have their own decking and patio with outdoor seating and combined firepit and BBQ. If you fancy pampering yourself in the morning you can order a breakfast basket (for an extra charge) and it will be delivered to your pod. Alternatively, choose the furnished bell tent raised on its own decking with space for a family of 5. It sits in a secluded spot next to the beck it has its own outdoor camp kitchen, picnic table, firepit and BBQ. If you have all the camping gear but don't want the faff of putting up the tent, then the unfurnished bell tent is ideal for you. A 5m bell tent with porch, all ready and set up for you. Travelling with a larger group or friends or family? You'll love a static caravan with all the amenities you need inside.

A note from the site themselves...

We have welcomed guests to the farm since back in the 1990's. I actually first met David (my husband) whilst holidaying on the farm with my family and many years later a holiday romance resulted in marriage.

It is amazing that I would end up living in the cottage that we used to holiday in! While David is busy working on the farm with our dogs Belle and Jess, I run my own business providing business advice and book-keeping support to other local farm businesses.

We have three children Jen, Beckie and Chris. Together, we love welcoming visitors to the farm and have made many friends over the years. We hope you become a regular soon, Siobhan

Glamping Pod - Glamping Pods (Dog Friendly)Mar 2025

We have had a lovely weekend at Howgills. The pod was a great size for me my two boys and dog. The kids loved all the safe open space and playing on the trampoline. The owners were kind enough to allow us a late check out the spend more time exploring. We would definitely recommend for a long weekend away and will hopefully be back soon

Camping Pod - Glamping Pods (Dog Friendly)Jul 2024

After reading only good reviews, I had booked at Howgills Hideway for 5 nights (family of 3 adults) in a standard clamping pod. We arrived at the site after driving a very narrow bendy road with few passing places. Siobhan, the owner, was friendly and helpful after asking for swimming spots. The BBQ hamper (meat & vegetarian) we ordered was very good. The surroundings are beautiful with lovely views. Unfortunately our standard pod. Wasn't very clean and full of cobwebs, I had to clean the kitchen drawers and shelves, and the BBQ grill before use and I swept the patio too. The kettle hadn't been descaled for a while, didn't use the toaster or microwave. Some dishes & cutlery were missing. It was very small, only two chairs inside and not enough space for your clothes, but we left some of our stuff in the car. I wouldn't call this a glamping pod. Though the double bed was comfortable and clean bedding was provided, the sofa bed (small mattress topper provided) was very hard and uncomfortable. We had a massive problem with flies inside as no fly screen on window or door. Very hot to sleep with window closed. We had to buy a fly screen to be able to sleep. A fan in the summer time would be nice, but a fly screen on window is a must. The kids we saw enjoyed there stay as lot's of toys & trampoline and big a lawn to play on. Maybe we were unlucky with our pod, but I wouldn't recommend it for more than two people for more than one night, but we still enjoyed our stay, because the weather was great and we sat outside after a day of walking in the evenings with nice views.

Camping Pod - Glamping Pods (Dog Friendly)Apr 2024

This was a nice relaxing night away. Clean pod in lovely surroundings. The farmer and his wife were lovely also. Great value and the little shop on site is very useful. Remember you only have cooker rings and a microwave when you pack food. If you forget, there are shops a short distance away.
