Excellent site, very clean and the site is well spaced. All facilities are very clean and well maintained. My only criticism is that we were too far away from the main buildings as walking is a bit problematic. We would have liked to use the great bar and perhaps the pool. However, we did not request any kind of disability facilities so our own fault really. Thank you.

We arrived not knowing what to expect, should have done more homework but the husband booked! Nice, clean, well laid out site. Outdoor swimming pool was clean and tidy and we used the pool spa a couple of times. The shower and toilet block was impressive with the added washing up area a surprise. The bar was nice and the quiz night entertainment was very enjoyable. All together, a positive review.

Other than the very intermittent WiFi service, the park is lovely to stay in. Very clean and nice facilities.

Campsite lovely, toilets immaculate and modern. Plenty of showers but not so modern. Dog wash area a great addition. Hayloft bar was brilliant. Lovely food, bar staff excellent. Outdoor heated swimming pools nice, did not use the indoor pool. We had a lovely week, my only niggle was that the pools did not open until 9am which in my opinion, is far too late. People want to be up and on when on holiday, get their exercise in early and enjoy the rest of the day. It was very frustrating as I swim everyday at 6am when at home, and as a life guard is not on duty for the outdoor pool anyhow, what difference would it make if it opened earlier? 🤷🏻♀️
Excellent

Lovely, peaceful site, although probably as much to do with the time of year we went (children back in school). Lovely and clean, plenty of hot water for showers and doing dishes. Lovely, heated outdoor pool. We never used the indoor pool. We did find the food in the cafe and hatchway a bit expensive. Overall, a lovely site and not too far to drive to drive to Paignton, Torquay, Brixham etc.

Spent 9 nights caravanning here in the 6 week holidays. Busy site but pitches are big and have space to play. Nice outside pool which is heated a little and you can take your own pool toys and inflatables, or pay to use the indoor pool for an hour slot. On site shop is great for essentials but only 8 mins drive away to Aldi, Lidl or Sainsbury's. Play parks are good for the kids and there is also soft play available but didn't use this. Also, lots of additional activities the site puts on through the week. Definitely recommend the walk down to Stoke Gabriel along the bridle path, took about 40 minutes. My 6 year old rode his bike whilst the 4 year old walked or went in the festival cart. Great for crabbing on the river when you get there. Overall, a lovely site, would visit again. A great location with lots of things to see and do in the area of Paignton.

I was injured on Sunday night, nothing to do with the site. The staff were amazing and looked after me so well. They also came to my van the next morning to ensure I was ok. In fact I put the joint out of it's socket so a night at Torbay A&E. thanks goes out to all the staff you were fantastic

Our second visit to Whitehill. Great location, my kids enjoyed walking to Stoke Gabriel for crabbing and woodland walks on site. Shops nearby to stock up, site shop has bits but it was limited. Nearby Hunt's Cider is gorgeous. Bathrooms are clean and good facilities. Would have liked the site's takeaway food to be available for longer periods of the day, or even through the week. I assume it was due to being early in the season. See you on our next visit.

We enjoyed our stay and found the site to be very friendly. With the pools, bar/restaurant and shop on site, it was perfect. Ideal for a lazy holiday on site and also as a base for travelling round the towns nearby.
Excellent campsite, will definitely return

This is a brilliant campsite. Well worth the money. Fabulous for children, with numerous play areas and swimming pools (both indoor and outdoor), plus a children's entertainer each night. Loads of dog walks and on a bus route, although we didn't use the bus. I would highly recommend this site and will be back again this year.

Had a lovely few days. Plenty for young kids to do. Swimming pools are both heated. Only downside was that the food we had was served warm, not hot. But that didn't stop us from enjoying the site. There are some lovely walks.
The best site we've stayed at

We had an amazing 3 nights at Whitehill, we didn't want to leave! The best campsite we've stayed in. Great facilities for children/teenagers. The swimming pools in particular were amazing! Staff were friendly and accommodating. All facilities were clean, well kept. Great location, we walked into Stoke Gabriel from the back gate, what a beautiful walk; our teenage son loved the crabbing! Our grass pitch for our motorhome was a great size, larger than a usual standard size pitch. Close to all facilities. We will be booking our next trip very soon! Thank you Whitehill :)

We enjoyed our weekend stay here at Whitehill, although the weather was a bit wet, so a hardstanding pitch would've been better on this occasion but that wasn't anything to do with the site. The swimming pool was very nice and clean so didn't mind paying extra for this. The bar arcade and all other areas were clean and not the biggest, but big enough for us. All staff were friendly and there were indoor and outdoor activities if you wished to do. Overall, a nice friendly clean site for a short break.

We had a fantastic weekend away in our new motorhome. Only the second outing and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The facilities were great and the staff were friendly and helpful - the pool was amazing and the singer on Friday night was great, we had a lovely evening.

Toilets and showers were a perfect mix of the usual, plus disabled and family rooms, nice to have dog shower! Indoor pool was lovely, all other facilities closed until Easter or May. The outdoor jacuzzi looked lovely but was not open and the shop was open on request. Take away was shut but the bar was open in the evenings with entertainment and restaurant. The pitches felt too close together for us, see pics. All motorhome service points available. Dogs had to stay on lead, there were many rabbits! We found the dog field too far up a hill. We had to leave early because there was no safe fenced off area for dogs to run free that didn't involve an uphill walk, one of our dogs didn't 'go' for 2 days. I think the café and bakery could be open all year round, they advertised croissants to order online and collect but they were not available till Easter. Overall, lovely birdsong and rabbits to watch and woodland area looked lovely. We were too far from the main facilities and had to drive there as quite a long walk and we all have walking difficulties. Heaven for children in the summer, they have another field being developed into pitches. I can imagine the pool will be busy at peak times or there may be hourly slots. I would recommend for fit, young families!

The site in general very nice and clean. Only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the food. I think they need to employ a proper cook, who will cook proper food from raw ingredients. Pizza frozen from market and burgers, well only the bun and burger, no tomato, onion etc. They could add £1 to the price and add these ingredients which would be simple.
Very picturesque but some shortcomings that if addressed, would make it a 5* site

The positives. Very good value for money. Reception team and site maintenance are a very friendly bunch. Great facilities for families with children offering well maintained park play equipment, 2 swimming pools and a games room with a pool table. Entertainment most evenings even in low season. The toilet and shower block was spotlessly clean and the access for disabled guests is great. Some nice touches like hands free on/off for the sink taps. Negatives were that some areas of the site are immediately beneath overhead power cables and close proximity to towers. The shop was poorly stocked at times. It's a shame that local produce such as sausages, bacon, cheese etc isn't stocked. It doesn't help that the closest food shop is a few miles away, so more reason to cater for guests. On the first day, there were no vegetables, fruit, bread or milk. The following day there was bread and a few more frozen items but inadequate if you were relying on the shop to provide healthy meals for the week. If you wanted stuffed crust pepperoni pizza every night, you're in luck. The restaurant was a major disappointment. The food was slow to arrive and the quality of the items was mediocre. When you spend £14.99 for the Whitehill Burger, you expect it's going to be premium. No such luck as it was two patties with onion and other ingredients. The lettuce was limp and the relish sparse. The fries were ok but the onion rings were overcooked and almost inedible. The burger meal was supposed to come with coleslaw but that was missing and no mention was made. My wife chose the Chicken Korma and she said it wasn't like any Korma she's had before, with a very sweet taste and not very pleasant. The rice was more of a congealed lump as if it had been kept under a heat source, giving it a hard crust on top. Two meals with a drink came to £38. The next evening, having had a poor experience at the restaurant, we thought we would try the takeaway. My wife ordered and paid for a £11.99 ham and mushroom pizza. After 5 minutes, someone from the kitchen came out to say there were no mushrooms. Not offering any alternative or a discount for not having all the ingredients my wife asked for a refund. After the missing coleslaw and overcooked food the evening before, you don't get a great vibe. It was a major disappointment that we couldn't rely on any of the sites food outlets for a complete meal. The approach to the site isn't great as Stoke Road is very narrow on many places with blind corners. It's also extremely busy at most times, not just rush hour or school runs. The road noise near the fully serviced pitches was disturbing. In summary then, it could be a great place to stay if you can avoid a pitch under the high voltage cables and away from the busy Stoke Road. More importantly, I think that the site owners would have more happy guests if the shop was better stocked with fresh and frozen food for "All paying guests" not just crisps, sweets and alcohol. Our experience of the restaurant and takeaway were disappointing to say the least. It could be a goldmine if the food lived up to the premium price charged.

This is a excellent site for walking your dog, both on site and off. The dog shower is a nice touch. The bar staff made us feel very welcome and the food was excellent. The facilities were good but the light timer in the gents' was a bit short. The only downside was that a grass pitch this time of year gets muddy, but then we had a lot of rain. Maybe a few more hard standing pitches would help. All in all, a very good site and we would recommend it.
