Fire Safety
Gorselands do not allow camp fires within the grounds of Gorselands Leisure.
Barbecues are permitted, but please use the paving slabs where provided
to avoid damaging the ground if not raised. Barbecues must be attended
at all times and hot coals must be cooled before their disposal. During
prolonged spells of hot and dry weather use of barbecues may be
restricted due to the increased risk of grass fires.
General Safety
Please do not leave power cables trailing in such a way that they may
cause a trip hazard. Do not climb trees, fences, benches, picnic tables or
any other structure that is not designed for climbing. The swings are not
available for the use of campsite users. The areas around the house are
out of bounds to campsite users. Please be aware that as this is a natural
site and there will be natural hazards. We ask you to use common sense
and remain vigilant at all times.
Children
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times and
should be taught about proper campsite etiquette and not disturb other
campers. Children must not play in or around the shower block or
facilities area.
Animals
You are welcome to bring dogs to the campsite. They must not be allowed
to run loose on site and kept under control at all times. Not everyone
feels comfortable around dogs so please be considerate and do not allow
your dog to disturb other campsite users. Dogs listed as a breed on the
Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted. Dogs should be exercised in the
Dog Walk area provided or outside the campsite. You are responsible
for cleaning up after them. If a pet is creating a nuisance or disturbance
to others, you will be asked to remove it from the site.
Prohibited Items
Gorselands do not allow a number of items on site either for safety reasons,
legal reasons or out of respect to other users of the campsite.
The following items are not permitted: illegal substances, weapons,
sound systems, generators, drones, model aircraft, Chinese lanterns,
fireworks, dangerous or hazardous items.
Noise
Tents in particular do not insulate against noise and you
should try to keep noise levels to a minimum to allow other
campers to enjoy their stay in peace and also to not upset our neighbours.
We ask that you maintain hours of absolute quietness
between 10.30pm and 8am. Please enter and leave the campsite quietly.
Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated.
Space and Privacy
Please maintain a respectful distance between your property and the
space of others. Do not block access with vehicles. Refrain from using
occupied pitches as a shortcut. We would also ask you to respect the
privacy of those who live on the campsite and their neighbours.
Wildlife
Please enjoy watching the natural wildlife around you, however, please
do not feed the wildlife in or around the campsite or leave out waste
