Small Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2024

The site was clean and John was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We found paying for the electricity as we used it really worked for us, as we didn't use too much, saving quite a lot compared to paying for a fully serviced pitch at other sites. Although, it might be expensive if running a heater all night. It was a small site with plenty of space for children to run around. The showers are £1 for 14 minutes. This runs all the facilities in the shower room (hairdryer and taps included). Teeth can be brushed in the toilet or washing up sinks. Toilets look like portaloos, but were clean, had a proper flush and running water - only down side is there are only 2, although this didn't cause us any issues. The Red Lion was convenient, although the walk down the road has no path, so you need to be careful.

Quaint, quiet and well-kept

Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2024

Knowing we wouldn't be arriving till late, John dropped me a text message with pictures of which pitches we'd be staying on for the weekend, which was very helpful. He also popped by in the morning to say hello which was really lovely! The site is a large, level field, with very generously sized pitches, multiple water access points and electricity as an option per pitch. We were allowed to pull up and park on our pitch which was really handy for unloading. The facilities were clean and well stocked with loo roll and soap. To my knowledge, there wasn't a light in the loos, so a head torch was needed on nightly trips! The area was lovely and quiet, and not too far from Skegness beach where we took a day trip. Only one note with the location is that the junction to turn onto the site is on a corner of national speed limit road, with no pedestrian access, so it felt a bit unsafe to walk down to Orby. That being said, we hopped in the car instead and had a lovely drink at the dog friendly local pub, The Red Lion. I would recommend this site!
