Sunnyside Pop Up Camping offers a traditional camping getaway with a Scandi twist, set on the outskirts of East Grinstead in Sussex. Open mostly on weekends during the summer, there are unmarked grass pitches for tents and campervans or unfurnished bell tents. Unwind by the communal campfire or hire out the Finnish sauna, with events like den building and curry night throughout the season. A country pub is also just a 15 minute walk away!

We stayed here in our campervan, with family also staying in a tent, and as other reviewers have said, Heath and Katja made us very welcome, helping us to find the best possible pitch for our van (which also happened to have a fantastic view out over the trees and fields dropping away in front of us). We were lucky enough to stay on a weekend with lovely weather, and we made the most of the outdoor activities (an afternoon barbecue with music, and burgers to die for!), and we also managed to pay a visit to the neighbouring National Trust property and visited the cows in a neighbouring field. We're looking forward to returning again soon.

We headed to Sunnyside with our daughter for her first proper camping experience and had a wonderful couple of nights at Sunnyside. The fields are so peaceful and have a large amount of room to pick your spot and set up. We enjoyed the fire pits and marshmallows over the fire. The walk to the village and pub is a lovely one and not far to wander across the fields. Kat and Heath were so welcoming and helpful and all facilities we clean tidy and the sauna was a huge bonus to have onsite. We are looking forward to getting back to Sunnyside for another trip this summer!

Serene escape in a cosy bell tent: a perfect getaway at Sunnyside Pop Up Camping. In August, I stayed at Sunnyside Pop Up Camping and opted for one of their bell tents, and I have to say, it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nestled in the beautiful Sussex countryside, the site feels like a true hidden gem. The bell tent itself was incredibly cosy and spacious. The campsite has such a relaxing vibe, with a real focus on sustainability and nature. It was amazing to be surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife. One of the highlights of my stay was the wood-heated sauna - a real treat after a day of outdoor adventures. I also loved the community feel of the site, with campfire evenings where guests can gather and share stories. If you're looking for a relaxing, nature-filled camping experience. I would absolutely recommend staying at Sunnyside. It's a fantastic spot for a quiet family getaway or a peaceful break with friends. I have already booked to come back!

The site is a series of large sloping fields with beautiful views, full of butterflies, you can pick any spot, either close to the water and toilets and communal fire or more remote for real tranquility. Health and Katja couldn’t have been more welcoming and the sauna is AMAZING! You are right next to the national trust Standen house and gardens and some beautiful walking too.

While eco camping naturally suggests a very stripped back setting, and this is indeed a simple and natural space, the site is abundant in so many other ways. It's on a stunning piece of land with a gentle hill past the first field which offers a huge view of the sky. The hosts treat you like family from the off, making it feel incredibly comfortable to hang out around centre camp, grab a sauna and chill by the fire. There are friendly local dog walkers, tons of space for privacy and great things to do nearby or on site with the owner's activities. For us, it was the perfect way to spend a weekend.
