About Little Ropers Camping
On this working Suffolk farm you'll find three camping areas, set by the edge of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), surrounded by stunning views and walks through the Stour Valley. It's family friendly and the team strive to make everybody feel welcome, with an atmosphere of mutual respect. The main woodland and meadow camping area offers six woodland pitches and four meadow pitches without electric. A smaller secondary site is set within a small area of trees (spinney) and includes three small woodland pitches and meadow pitches (adult only area). Woodland pitches in both areas offer log seating around a fire pit, while meadow pitches offer a picnic bench and fire pit. It's an 'almost wild' camping experience just for tents. And this family run base is a tranquil alternative to more commercial sites. All are generously spaced pitches, and guests are allocated to a pitch that suits their size of tent upon booking. Each pitch has a fixed ground open fire pit for your use. Hardwood seasoned logs are available to purchase at the farm (please do not bring your own firewood). For those looking to travel without too much gear, bell tents are situated away from the other sites, pre-pitched and including some camping comforts - such as a comfy double bed. Four adults max, bring your own sheets and bedding. The site can supply up to four extra single roll mats for inside. Being only a small area, numbers on site are very limited. Vehicles are left at the farmyard (access to bell tents for unloading) and campers have a 5-10 minute walk to the main site, which adds to the 'wild camping' atmosphere. It's a 2-3 min walk to the spinney (small area of woodland) secondary site and 150-200 yards to the bell tents. Wheelbarrows are free to borrow if required or for those with a lot of equipment an ATV and trailer will take you to the campsite for a small fee. You can bring your car over to the bell tents for unloading, vehicles must be returned to the carpark after unpacking. Families with supervised kids and small well behaved groups are welcome (10pm noise curfew on site). Large groups and stag or hen parties cannot stay. Sorry, pets cannot stay. As this is a working farm, at some times of year there may be noise disruption from machinery working around the farmyard or in the fields. Be sure to follow the safety signs and make sure kids are accompanied at all times.
The site is open year round with bell tents available from 28th May until 6th Sept.
