About Hudscales Farm Camping Barn
Hudscales Farm Camping Barn is part of a group of well maintained farm buildings and sits at 1,000 ft on the northernmost flank of the Lakeland Fells, overlooking the villages of Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket. It offers great access to the Northern Fells and will give walkers and hikers access to incredible scenery. The barn offers a traditional way of reconnecting with nature and exploring the world famous UNESCO heritage Lake District National Park while also being just 40 minutes from Carlisle. Sleeping accommodation is on the ground floor along with a cooking slab, eating area, wood burning stove and games room. The barn is kept very simple and the maximum group size is 12. Overflow camping is available with sole occupancy bookings.

Site rules and policies
This booking is entered into on the understanding that the total number in the party shall not exceed the total available sleeping capacity of the barn. Excess numbers will terminate the booking arrangement and no refund will be given.
If your party includes any children under five (5) the barn must be booked for sole use.
Arrival is after 4pm on day of arrival and Departure before 10am on day of departure.
Pets are not allowed.
Booking conditions are applied to the minimum number of nights booked and the occupancy levels required. All bookings made are non-refundable and non-transferable
All young people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Professional caring groups must book the barn for sole use
The key to the barn can be collected from the farmhouse next door.
Things to do on site and in the Wigton area
For outdoor lovers, Hudscale Farm is an ideal base for exploring the Northern Fells, and has access to key local cycle routes such as the Cumbria Way.
On campers' doorstep will be much of what the Lake District has to offer in terms of walking, cycling and rambling routes, plus some of the most beautiful locations in the park. Particularly easy to reach are:
- Bassenthwaite Lake
- Keswick
- Derwent Water, which offers paddleboating
- Thirlmere
- The Coppermines and Lakes Cottages
The North Pennines are also within driving distance to the east and will draw keen walkers and climbers for days out. When visitors need a taste of urban life, Carlisle is in easy reach and will tempt families with Carlisle Castle, Solway Aviation Museum and The Devil's Porridge Museum.
