Why you'll love it at Castlerigg Farm Camping and Caravan Site

About the site

Revelling in its great views, the site looks out majestically over a range of mountains and the beautiful neighbouring bodies of water. The scenic setting makes it ideal for couples or families looking to explore. Away from the noise of roads it's just five minutes in the car to get to Keswick and 16 miles to the M6, in case you want to venture further afield. And yet, there's no traffic or honking of engines here. Camping is in large, fairly level grass spaces. Electric pitches for tents are available and should be booked in advance. You'll be able to park beside your tent (hardstanding parking is available in winter). Please note camping without electric is on a first come first serve basis and may not be pre-booked. For tourers, there are panoramic views from a set of hardstanding pitches which also offer electric.

If you're feeling lonely, turn your walk into a surreal experience thanks to the local company, Alpacaly Ever After, who will bring you and the kids on a stroll with their adorable alpacas.

Mirrorlike Derwent Water is just begging to be explored, so get lost in its network of intriguing foot paths. Or, board a boat and watch the shoreline bob into the distance. (Launch tickets can be purchased on site).

Mountain climbers could get their muscles in order indoors at the the Keswick climbing centre, and from there enticing challenges await on all sides. Conquer Skiddaw, Knott and more from this ideal base.
