Why you'll love it at Wern Ddu Farm
About the site
Wern Ddu Farm Campsite is a small and peaceful members only Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site nestling 8 miles into Wales in the delightful Hirnant Valley and the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains. Campervans, motorhomes and caravans are all welcome, and with lovely views in all directions, it's the perfect place to call home for a few nights. Wern Ddu is secluded but surprisingly well-connected. You're just 90 mins from Manchester and Birmingham, 6 miles from Snowdonia and all of its incredible outdoor activities. The farm attracts abundant birdlife so you can sleep in the heart of nature. Red-kites, buzzards, herons, jays, red-starts and many other birds visit and after dark, the owls make themselves heard, which is a bit of a hoot. With sturdy hardstandings (each with hook-up) and a wide site road entrance, there's no chance of getting bogged down whatever the weather or season. It's the perfect place for dogs to holiday, so bring your furry friend along!

Water sports and birdwatching at Lake Vyrnwy are very popular, you can try your hand at canoeing, kayaking, sailing or windsurfing. Or, on land, abseiling and archery are offered. In the Powys area there are opportunities for shooting, fantastic treks on horseback and plenty of great walking and cycling routes.
If mountain biking takes your fancy, there's Revolution, a first class centre in the next village and you can also fish at the lake from 8 am until sunset, with permission from the Vyrnwy Hotel. When it's dark, see what you can spot with your naked eye stargazing, there's zero light pollution around this idyllic site.
There are lovely arts and craft centres to explore and Powys Castle is only 30 mins away.
