We had a lovely and peaceful stay in this cosy pod. Great place with lots of dog walks, super friendly owners and we loved the birds. It was such a relaxing break. I'd love to go back.

Lovely stay in January (lucky with the weather). Sofa comfortable and bed cosy. Tiny TV didn't get signal, so couldn't watch anything, but we took cards so stayed occupied. Spotty internet and phone signal, but the whole area had that issue. Fridge was a bit small, but it was cold enough to store the wine outside! Wouldn't work in the summer or if you were staying longer. Only actual problem was the kitchen tap, which leaked all over the work-surface over night, soaking the food, teabags and the floor. The en-suite was also so cold that condensation was running down the walls, making puddles on the floor. Didn't attempt a shower (cos we forgot towels…). Would go back and will certainly explore similar venues.

So sorry you had a couple of issues, Kerry. If you had contacted us whilst on site, we certainly could have helped you resolve them, like the TV booster wasn't switched on, apologies for that. We'd love to welcome you back in the warmer weather and offer you a 10% discount. Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate that.

We only booked 2 nights, wish it was longer! The pod was amongst the trees in a secluded area just off from the road. We had great weather and used the bbq each night which was lovely. Sofa bed was comfy, bed was hoarded but slept fine still! We were a party of 2 plus 7month old!

Great hobbit hole, not for sensitive sleepers

The Pod Hollow is absolutely magical with my favourite part being the table and chairs outside to admire the outside from. The pods are located on a main countryside road so just be warned that you can hear traffic passing alongside the chatter of birds and hobbits in the distance. If you are a sensitive sleeper like myself then you might not enjoy the springy mattress. For the price I was expecting not quite hotel quality but more elevated than the ones provided. Very springy. If you are sensitive to smell as well, the Pod Hollow does understandably have a sort of damp smell throughout which I found off putting to sleep with. It is quite literally underground but perhaps a dehumidifier would help. Don't forget to bring your own towels as for some reason they are not provided. Bit of a shame for people travelling from outside the UK. Other than that, the pod was wonderful and would definitely recommend to any LOTR fan. Great size kitchen but double check with the host for supplies if you are planning on bringing certain things to cook or brew as there were some basic things not included. I would definitely suggest visiting in the warmer months to be able to spend most of your time outside as I feel this is the most worthwhile. Pretty wildflowers surrounding the front and lots of friendly birds and critters we saw running past. We didn't end up exploring more of the site but it looked like there was a little trail leading off somewhere.

Me and my partner stayed in the Aelfred Pod for 3 nights in March 2022. The site is very peaceful and takes you right back to nature and the pod is very clean, cosy and self-sufficient. We used the BBQ outside to cook our evening meals. We had a lovely, quiet and much needed peaceful mini-break. There is lots to do in surrounding areas as well and places to eat etc. We would definitely recommend West Stow Pods.
