A warm welcome from the hosts at this friendly site, nestled between a golf course and fishing lake. Our electric lead was too short but the team loaned us a longer one without hesitation or charge. Reception is in the bar area which is perfect for an early evening drink and a game of pool. The pitches were a good size and well laid out, and the amount of space available made the site feel spacious, unlike some sites where every square yard is a pitch. It's well situated to break up the long drive to the west country and would recommend as a great overnight stop off.

Loved the golf course setting, with a pretty lake (some-one was fishing there) and great views. We had a drink on the wind-protected terrace and my son and husband played 9 holes of golf. An evening walk around the site was really pleasant. Toilets and showers all clean and working. Happy camper!

Our first stop on a caravan road trip. The camp is very easy to drive to off the main road to Shaftesbury. We chose a grass electric pitch and so glad we did, as we had the whole field to ourselves for 3 nights. The grass is well kept, as is the adjoining 9 hole golf course. The club house is nice and cosy, but only open till 7. Shaftesbury is 15 mins away, where you will find spectacular views from Gold Hill, famous for the Hovis advert directed by Ridley Scott. The couple running the site were very friendly and helpful. Electricity is a prepaid card meter and we paid £7 for the 3 nights. The toilet and shower block was nice and clean, and all in all we found our stay good value for money, and hope to return next year.

Great tidy spot to stay for the weekend. Very quite, lovely setting against a pond with ducks. Onsite clubhouse selling a good selection of beers. Electric hook ups are limited. But, if you want a quite spot with the option for a round of Golf, it's perfect.

We booked a last minute 1 night stay as part of a road trip. The club grounds are well set up with lots of space and in a very tranquil setting. We had a wonderful sunset over the lake. The clubhouse bar was open until 7pm for drinks on the terrace and in the morning we had the best bacon and sausage baguettes for breakfast. Shower and toilet facilities are very well maintained here - they are a little dated but very clean and warm with good showers.

We enjoyed our stay here at Henstridge golf and leisure. There were clean facilities and lots of space for our children to run around and play. I liked the fact they had a microwave in the wash room (good if you have a baby for sterilising mam bottles). The showers are ok, not very powerful and much room to move, but they do the job just fine. We went for food in a pub up road called the Virginia ash, it had decent food and was a short drive, About 35 min drive to Longleat.
