A note from the site themselves...
We moved to the Borders in 2020, as we wanted to find some land to help us live more sustainably, and to help restore the land to nature by removing invasive plants and replanting local varieties of tree.
We have a beautiful garden, the remnants of the old walled garden of Whim Hall, built by the Duke of Argyll in the 18th century. We found an ideal spot to build a glamping site, and obtained planning consent in mid 2021!
The pods are set near the woods surrounding the garden, and have a lovely population of birds and woodland creatures. We have had deer in the garden, and the nearby farm fields are occupied by sheep, horses and cattle. We love the seclusion here, but also the proximity to Edinburgh and the links to elsewhere.
Well equipped glamping pods, set in a beautiful garden area. With heating, ensuite shower room, comfy bed, kitchenette and dining facilities and a sofa bed for children. Private decking with furniture. Towels and linen for two provided. Sorry, no pets.

Camping Pod - Ensuite Glamping Pods (No Dogs)May 2024
The site and pod was exactly as described. The pod was beautiful and had everything we needed for a short family break.
We stayed with our 2 young children so used the sofa bed and it worked well, just enough space for the 4 of us. There's a small woodland play area with rope swings that the kids enjoyed. We used it as a base for day trips to Edinburgh (caught train from Eskbank where there's free parking), North Berwick and the Pentlands. Would recommend.

Camping Pod - Ensuite Glamping Pods (No Dogs)Nov 2023
I stayed for 2 nights and the pod was perfect. Extremely cosy with everything you could need. Nice communal fire pit and Colin was very helpful with providing firewood and dealing with a minor Wi-Fi issue one evening.
The location is lovely and quiet but only 20 minutes from the shops. We even managed to see the Northern Lights one evening. Overall. it was a lovely site to stay at. The facilities were perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break.

Camping Pod - Ensuite Glamping Pods (No Dogs)Oct 2023
My partner and I just spent the weekend at Wilding on a Whim and it was perfect. The pod and bathroom were immaculate on arrival and they had provided all that we needed throughout our stay. Thank you for the eggs!
The host was very friendly and checked in with us to make sure we had everything, we hadn't realised our pre arrival email had gone into our junk folder but Colin was more than happy to check us in over the phone.
The location is perfect for trips into Edinburgh while also secluded enough to disconnect, and is surrounded by beautiful scenery.
We'll definitely be back again!
