Things to do on site and in the South Uist area
Walks along the beach are at your fingertips, with the isle offering the most relaxing beaches - crowd free and just perfect. The Isle of Eriskay is only just across the causeway, home to great wildlife and stunning vibrant blue seas. Eiseabhal is also a must for hill walking, and very close to the site.
Pristine and beautiful, the local beach is great for kayaking and paddling. Hop in the car and head to Loch Eynort where you have a good chance of getting up close with the South Uist's shy residents - an eagle, otters and even seals.
For those who want to work up a sweat, Beinn Mhòr is the place for stunning mountain walks, or you can take things at a slower pace, exploring the ancient ruined castles and history at Calvay Castle and Ormacleit Castle.
