Things to do on site and in the Westray area
For fun right on the site, don't miss a concert in the Graand Owld Byre at Chalmersquoy on Tuesday nights during the high season. With local singers, musicians and the best of Westray homebakes these concerts have become really popular with locals and visitors.
On Wednesday and Saturday nights all year round, the local fish merchant becomes a fish and chip shop serving a wonderful range of fish and giving you a flavour of the isles. Stroll along through Pierowall village to find craft shops, grocery shops, the Westray Heritage Centre, a cafe, heated swimming pool and a play park for children.
Not far away is Noltland Castle and the Westray golf course, newly renovated and attracting a lot of golfers, plus a chance to dive into local history at the Castle O'Burian.
The coastline boasts wonderful beaches, cliffs and birdlife. Westray also plays host to a circus of puffins each summer which are a treat to watch.
Westray also has several archaeological sites particularly at the Noltland Links, which often result in summer digs. Guests are free to watch and test their archaeological knowledge! With long summer evenings, plenty of fresh air and just a stroll from the site to the sea, here's the perfect place to unwind!
