This is a back-to-basics site set in remote-feeling, natural beauty. It's pet friendly, so bring your furry friend to snuggle with you by the campfire or cosy up in the log burner room. Spotty Dog Campsite is great for individuals but also groups such as Scouts etc. The site runs a variety of activities and activity camps for adults and children. For the group leader or anyone not keen on pitching a tent, there's an insulated micro hut.
About Spotty Dog Campsite
The site feels almost like wild camping but in a secure, secluded location. It's located below a roman fort and close to a local canal, with plenty of wildlife including deer and buzzards around you. The campsite is aimed at passers by during their adventure but welcomes anyone. There are spacious grass pitches available with lovely views. The camping pod, is ideal for D of E leaders, allowing you to pack light to ease the journey with your groups. This sleeps two comfortably and has power supplied and insulation inside. With their position close to the John Muir Trail these pods are ideal for people or groups stopping in for a night before continuing their journey. Well behaved pets are also welcome.

Things to do on site and in the Twechar area
On site there are fun activities and sessions bookable, which include shelter building and bush craft, plus navigation courses.
The Twechar area is fantastic for outdoor lovers, with climbing, canoeing, archery and even fishing in the local canal all around you. You can grab a map and have a go at orienteering or get super fit with some hill walking in lovely surroundings.
For the locals gorge walking and burn scrambling are very popular and will have everyone switching off from digital life and enjoying the outdoors.
