Sherwood Pines Campsite offers 40 acres of beautiful woodland in an ideal location for Sherwood Forest and Forestry England activities. Tents and tourers are welcome on any of the site's pitches, ranging from non electric grass pitches to fully serviced hardstanding. The area is also packed with great walks including the famous Major Oak from the Robin Hood legends.

About Sherwood Pines Campsite
Situated within the Sherwood Forest, this is an ideal site for exploring Nottinghamshire's gorgeous forests and their exciting myths. Tents and tourers are welcome on the site's grass or hardstanding pitches. Guests can pick between one of the 40 non electric grass pitches, the 47 electric grass pitches or the 54 electric hardstanding pitches. If you want to upgrade, you can also opt for the fully serviced hardstanding pitches with come with electric, fresh water and drainage. All of the pitches allow units of up to 8m x 5m and six guests. For those who prefer glamping, the site also offers six small Bothy pods sleeping 2-3, and four family size Bothy pods sleeping 4-5 and a fabulous Geodome which accommodates up to six people. Guests can enjoy easy access to a wide variety of forest walks and cycling trails. Go Ape is also just a gentle ten minute walk where you can enjoy treetop challenges and an exhilarating zip wire. During the summer months, the site also offers a range of onsite family activities. For something to eat, there is a chip van on most Fridays, and a pizza van on most Saturdays. Campfires are not allowed. Dogs are welcome, with a maximum of three per pitch. There are also pet friendly glamping options.
Sherwood Pines Campsite is open from 03/01 to 31/12 in 2024 and all year round in 2025.

Things to do on site and in the Nottingham area
Surrounded by the stunning Sherwood Pines Forest Park, you will have many picturesque walking and cycling trails to explore, great if you want to bring a picnic along too.
You will also be just a ten minute walk away from Go Ape Sherwood. Here you can take on the Treetop Challenge course and enjoy the thrill of the tandem zip wire, or stay on the ground and explore the area on your very own Segway.
Robin Hoods Wheelgate Park is just a 15 minute drive away where you can keep busy with rides, or splash around in the water park, perfect on a warm summer's day!
A half an hour's drive will also take you to Newstead Abbey, the previous home of the famous poet Lord Byron. The 12th century property has stunning grounds and historic buildings for you to discover, great for keen historians.
