Birchwood Tourist Park is a rural and family-run campsite, with mainly grass pitches and some hardstanding serviced pitches, welcoming tents, trailer tents, touring caravans and motorhomes. The park is located three miles' drive from Wareham town, surrounded by Wareham Forest with direct access for dog walking and cycling. The Jurassic Coastline, Poole, Bournemouth, Lulworth Cove, Swanage and Studland is a short drive away. Open all year.
About Birchwood Tourist Park
Birchwood Tourist Park is an open park, set over 27 acres and surrounded by the trees of Wareham Forest with direct access to its tracks, forestry commission footpaths of the Sika Trail and cycle ways. The paths provide a walking or cycling route through the forest into Wareham town or it is a 3 mile drive along the Bere Road. The park has a range of different pitch types including block-paved hard-standings with gravel areas for awnings, grass pitches, and some gravel pitches. You can choose from a fully serviced or electric hook up (10-Amp) pitch, and there is plenty of space for tents without a hook-up. Pitches suitable for your own tent, caravan, motorhome, campervan, or trailer tent. Pitch sizes vary, but generally 7m or 8m by 5m, with some larger 10m pitches, please enquire if you have a larger unit to check availability Well behaved dogs are admitted if kept on a short lead on the park and a dog wash station for after a forest walk. Rallies are welcome out of season, and the site owners would be happy to discuss your requirements. Seasonal pitches also available. Caravan storage by arrangement, for customers that stay at Birchwood.
The site is fully open from March to October, while hardstanding pitches are open all year round including Christmas and New Year.

Fully-serviced, block-paved pitches with water tap, TV socket, 16-amp electric and waste water outlet point. These have gravel area for awning.

Pitch fees are from 12.30pm on day of arrival to 11am on the day of departure.
Things to do on site and in the Wareham area
On site you'll find:
- Two toilet/shower blocks (one open all year), free showers, laundry, dog wash, washing up sinks
- Children's play area, sand pit and swings
- Paddling Pool for children (2ft deep, unheated, unsupervised): open end of May to end of August
- Onsite shop with general groceries and camping supplies
- Pool and table-tennis tables (charges apply for equipment)
- Large games field and a large open grass area for all ball games and kite flying
- Direct access points into Wareham Forest
- Free tennis, badminton, pitch-n-putt (with your own equipment) or a hire charge
- Ice packs to hire in summer
The site enjoys direct access into Wareham Forest for walking and cycling. Paths link onto the Forest Trails, the Sika trail which also has a direct route into Wareham town and the nearest pub is the Silent Woman.
A short drive away there are also golf courses, horse-riding centres and fishing.
Birchwood is in an ideal location from which to enjoy and explore the Dorset countryside, the Jurassic Coast, and many local attractions such as the Tank Museum, Monkey World, Farmer Palmers Farm, the Blue Pool, Corfe Castle, Brownsea Island (NT) and Swanage Steam Railway to mention a few.
Bus services from Wareham town (3 miles drive away) to the Breezer 40 for Poole or Swanage.
