A perfect place to stop of on our trip up to Scotland. It was very windy but had a lovely big field and a fire pit to use. It had everything you'd need and beautiful views! Loved it, thank you!!

Arrived about 5pm no check in so just pulled up and plugged in as we had paid for a grass with electric pitch, very peaceful, surrounded by fields, it is a working farm so expect sheep, cows and horses in adjoining fields - which was great to see.

A great site and ideal for a break in the area. The toilet facilities and showers were clean and cleaned every day. Nice little honesty shop as well, ideal for those litttle things that you have forgotten. Will definitely be returning for another stay.

This was our first trip out in our Motorhome, just to try things out. Nice clean site with everything you need, good toilets, shower and wash up area. Nice to get a free fire pit with every pitch and wood is available to buy at the little shop on site. Also, free use of board games located in the shop. Good mixture of people all types of camping. Motorhomes, campers and tents. Lots of room between pitches so not feeling cramped in. Will visit again in the near future.

Lovely small campsite, we stayed in a pod, which had it's own fenced off garden, which was great for the dog. Pods were very nice and the toilets and shower were very clean and not too far to walk to them. We would definitely stay there again.
Nice rural setting, great views

Great farmyard camping location. Good views of the local countryside. Hot water showers and hot water for washing up, electric hookups available too. We have a sheep and her lamb for company for most of our stay, one morning the cows joined us too. Owners friendly and helpful. Loved the fire pits and nightime sitting around fire toasting marshmallows.
Perfect for a stop off

Great location, had a bit of trouble locating the site. We came from the M6 so we missed the sign for the site. Farmer next door told us where it was. Sign posts would be better if they were bigger and on both sides of the road. Otherwise, really good.

Lovely stay in a pod, loved the garden for the dog, simple but perfect. Great value for money, couldn’t have asked for more.

When we arrived at the campsite, a man saw us coming, so we waited at the entrance. We stood there for at least 10 minutes. Then the man came, asked about our reservation and apologized for the bins that were more than full. During our stay, the bins got more full and birds came and had a meal there, leaving the rubbish on the ground. It would have been better if there was an extra bin put there. The view was stunning and the pitch fine. There were hardly enough toilets and showers and they weren't very clean. Warm water was just about warm, but not really warm enough. All in all we were fairly disappointed. No warm welcome, no warm water, no warm goodbye.
Site's response
We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. Unfortunately, the bin collection was changing from fortnightly to weekly on the week that you visited and they were unable to collect sooner when we rang them and asked them to do so. As your welcome email would have stated that being a little site, we do not have a manned reception as such, but one of us is normally about running the farm. Various other reviews comment that we are friendly and welcoming, so I am sorry that you did not find this. Your comments about the toilets are surprising, our phone number is displayed in there asking you to contact us if you aren't happy with the cleanliness of the toilets and showers and we had no contact from you. Our member of staff works extremely hard to make sure the facilities are spotless so we would have appreciated being notified about this. Equally, issues with the hot water could have been resolved if we had been made aware when you were here. Being a small site we find that the five toilets and two showers are sufficient.

This is a real farm, so be prepared for the action & some untidiness that can bring. We loved it. We loved having to wait for the chickens to do their things so we could actually leave. We loved seeing the family pulling together, even the kids! It's a peaceful site with very few rules so if that's what you like then this is for you! The toilets and showers are basic, but they do the job if that's what you're after. We were! Its location is great, 40mins to Keswick and the rest of the lakes just on your doorstep. We had our 9 month old Grandson and a Schnoodle and stayed on a fully serviced pitch. Couldn't have been happier. This is great site if you are the relaxed type and just want to sit, chill, watch the kids and enjoy the free fire pits! If you want dogs tied up, straighteners, hairdryers and a child free, quiet site. It's not for you! We will definitely be back.

Nice and peaceful place within a working farm, very clean facilities and generous amount of space in our pod (two adults and two seven year olds). The gentleman we met at our pod was really friendly. He helped us when we got there and dropped our firewood in while we were out. The contact with the property was nice and easy with very polite messages and a very quick response. We will definitely be returning in the near future! Thank you very much.
Great service and pleasant experience!

This location was great for us, splitting our journey from Kent to Scotland! The family that runs this site are fantastic and ever so helpful! The best thing is that this site is open all year round! Our experience was so good we already made a second booking for the return journey! Thank you for being a great caravan site and look forward to our next stay!

We have stayed here a few times and would definitely recommend and return, it’s brilliant for little ones to run around and be within sight at all time, brilliant for dogs and plenty to do locally and within a great distance from the lakes. The owners are very friendly and definitely go out of there way for customers, my boys loved being able to meet the lambs and having a lot of open space to enjoy away from any roads, only thing that would improve it would be a play area for children. But apart from that it’s a brilliant site and we would most definitely return.

Hidden gem! This site is amazing! Right there at the top of my favourite places to stay! The owners are so friendly, approachable and are genuinely nice people. Family and pet friendly and the scenery is perfect. The pitches are spacious and the rates affordable. Every stay has been perfect! We adore this site, you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to hire the onsite fire pit and their onsite logs!

Lovely little campsite situated just outside of Carlisle close to the village of Dalston, stunning views of the Lake District Fells. Family run campsite on a working farm who are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble, we have stayed here a few times and plan to visit many more times.

We visited this little site back in 2017 by accident and we have returned year after year (except pandemic)! What a lovely, fun site. Lots to explore locally. The owners are lovely, helpful and sociable but not overwhelming, like some sites we have visited. We loved the hire of fire pits, other families participating in games on the grass with us, and the owners had an amazing party which we were all invited to. The washrooms are clean and fresh and the views are amazing. I am going to stop now as I could go on and on! Visit and you won't be disappointed.

Stayed for my birthday weekend as I prefer little campsites to the big ones, due to the fact that the owners look after their guests and treat them like family. Would definitely recommend the campsite as I consider this campsite as the best in Cumbria.

Becky was super friendly. The site is clean and quiet and in a great location for Carlisle or North Lake District. The facilities are super clean and the pod was really comfortable with beautiful views. We have camped and stayed in the pods and I can highly recommend, especially for the incredible price.

We stayed at Cardewlees to avoid bonfire night with our four dogs. It was such a lovely small site, Becks and her family are so welcoming. The Facebook group is absolutely brilliant and so interactive. You can find great recommendations of places to go, things to see, or amazing places to eat. The toilets and showers are so clean and the site itself was immaculate. Gutted we didn't get to meet Moodini! 😂 Can't wait to come back for Easter.
