About the site


Enjoy a relaxing stay in one of these ensuite glamping pods, with views to the North of the Black Isles. Set near the NC500, the site is a great base for exploring some of the most scenic spots of the Highlands. The Skypod is an ensuite glamping pod made from the fuselage of an Airbus A320, it offers guests a unique stay with two business class reclining seats and aircraft windows. The pod measures 4m x 3m and sleeps two. Set at the top of the site with views to the Black Isle, the pod comes equipped with a double bed and ottoman storage, basic kitchen facilities including two portable electric hobs, built-in Bluetooth speakers and a bathroom with a rainfall shower. The other two pods are a bit more spacious allowing for up to two adults and two children, measuring 7m x 4m. Inside is an enclosed bedroom with wardrobes, a full length mirror and bedside cabinets, the bathroom also has a rainfall shower with jets. There is an equipped kitchen area with lounge seating, including a sofa bed and built-in Bluetooth speakers. Outside each of the pods is a patio area complete with a gas fire pit, Hydropool hot tub and outdoor seating offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Guests all have access to a communal fire pit, sauna, BBQ hut and play area too. The site is set away from light pollution so enjoys some fabulous dark skies, you may even spot the Northern Lights! The site is set around working farms, with freshly laid eggs and fresh BBQ packs available. The local village of Beauly is well renowned for its village square full of independent shops and eateries as well as its annual floral displays. In summer it is usual to see pipe bands and highland dancers too! The site is just 30 minutes from Inverness and well located for the NC500. Each pod has a gas fire pit for keeping warm in the evenings and there is a communal BBQ hut and fire pit for group gatherings. Ground fires and BBQs are not permitted. Wyvis glamping pod is dog friendly, but sorry Lovat and Skypod do not allow pets.

Each pod has an ensuite bathroom with a flushing loo, rainfall shower and heated towel rail. The site provides complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries and a hairdryer in each pod.

Opposite the pods there is a communal fire pit and play area with a swing set. There is also a large BBQ hut that seats ten, perfect for group meals, the site will provide charcoal and there are BBQ packs provided by local farms available to purchase.

The deluxe barrel sauna is also available to all guests with a panoramic window at the back to enjoy the views.

For picking up the essentials guests have the option to place an order from Asda, Tesco or Morrisons for their stay. The site is happy to store a limited amount of food before guests' arrival, so there is no need to worry about fitting in a food shop. Or if you just need to pick up something small there is the village Post Office a five minute drive away.

There are also free-range rescue hen's onsite and each pod is supplied with fresh eggs on arrival (subject to availability).

For meals out, the closest pub is The Clachnaharry Inn, a 20 minute drive from the site.

Onsite guests can enjoy unwinding in the barrel sauna with a window at the back to enjoy the views, or cook up a hearty meal in the BBQ hut or on the fire pit. For little ones, there is a play area with a swing set too. The site is set around working farms so there are plenty of walks around to keep you occupied!

Guests can also expect to see a whole host of wildlife including Red Kites, squirrels, pheasants and deer. The sky is set away from the main towns and cities so can enjoy some beautiful dark skies, with guests reporting sightings of shooting stars and even the Northern Lights!

The village of Beauly has lots of independent shops and eateries as well as an annual flower display. In summer the Beauly Gala, the Bright Beauly Fair and the October Blazin Beauly all encourage fiddlers of all ages to hold impromptu concerts! If you are a fan of the Outlander TV series then be sure to visit The Priory hotel, just alongside the main square.

The site is well located for exploring the NC500 route, just 30 minutes from Inverness. Use the pods as a luxury end to the busy trip or a beautiful spot to unwind before continuing your adventures!
