About Meadowbeck Shepherd's Huts
A relaxing escape on the Yorkshire Coast. Located within the glorious North York Moors National Park, the area is popular with keen walkers, wildlife enthusiasts, cyclists and those seeking a peaceful escape by the sea. Within a ten minute drive of the beach and a short stroll to the nearest bus stop taking you to Scarborough and Whitby, via Robin Hoods Bay. The site is set on a ten acre smallholding, so you'll be living here with the resident animals including donkeys, goats, chickens/cockerel, ducks, dogs and Ryland sheep! All of the huts are perfect for a romantic break, each sleeping up to two in a double bed - they are also popular with solo travellers. They come fully furnished with a wood burning stove to keep you cosy, a basket of firewood and double-aspect windows. The pet free shepherd's huts sit side by side in the meadow and are both off-grid. They include a wood burning stove, padded seating bench, along with a kitchen area, sink, pots and pans. Each hut has a campfire area and use of a hammock. There is an eco loo onsite, shared between the two huts. Private standard toilets are a five minute walk away from the huts and located in the barn known as 'The Scratching Shed', which also includes a shower with hot and cold water, kettle, sink, microwave, and fridge - these facilities are shared with just the other off-grid hut. The Barn also includes a guest games room area with TV and sofas. Shepherd's Watch is pet friendly and fully equipped with electricity. It has an enclosed garden and its own private toilet/wet room attached to the rear. This hut has a TV, two ring stove, mini fridge and toaster. This hut is closer to the cottages and parking is directly outside. It is elevated with a decked area, where you can sit out and enjoy the views. Everyone will have access to the communal facilities too. 'The Scratching Shed' offers WiFi, a pool table, bar football, a dart board, a gaming table, board games, a TV and cosy sofas. There is also a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board. The site also offers EV charging for an extra fee. All of the huts enjoy glorious countryside views, perfect for unwinding with your morning brew. The area is also famed for its dark skies, making it perfect for star gazing, though a torch is recommended for getting around at night. Pets are welcome on request. Please note, there is a maximum of one large dog or two small dogs.
