Only 2 hours from London and easily accessible from the A303 makes this place in the middle of nowhere but not far from anywhere. This peaceful rural site with only 10 EHU pitches ( a few extra for tents July/Aug) is close to Wincanton, Bruton, Castle cary, Gillingham, With Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire at your feet, there are plenty of stunning landscapes to explore both close and further afield. The shower block has 2 men's, 2 ladies, showers and toilets washing up area, Elson point, biffa bins, mains water and a view to die for Each pitch offers an electric hook up, as well as a yurt, and even a hut with a log fuelled hot tub shepherds overlooking the valley towards Alfred's Tower. The open hillside in the front of the site offers the ideal opportunity for people to bring a tent and relax in front of the view with out electric for July and August. Sunnyhill doesn't really farm anymore although we do still have enough chickens/ducks around to provide folks with fresh eggs, and in the covered area by the bar there is an honesty shop with a few local things to buy including logs, honey, eggs and a little local art. The old wheel rims we use for fire pits around the site help guests to enjoy the view with some marshmallows toasting We have also collected goats, sheep, lambs, ponies/horses, and even pet cows who all have their individual stories and characters, and even post cards and poems! The Jolly Farmer is a pop up bar is open Fri and Sat, and the cafe is open the Sat and the Sun from 4th April for the season AND we have a fantastic mini festival Sunnyhills Big Weekender with FREE camping for the AUG bank holiday with you ticket Dogs are welcome with usual rules applying. A note from the site themselves...

Sunnyhill Farm used to be my Dad's family farm and has been in the family since 1940! My parents are now retired in Devon and I took over the campsite in 2018

I work hard with a great team of colourful characters to create the Sunnyhill Campsites unique hidden gem, Goats, horses, chickens, ducks, cats and dogs add to the magical atmosphere in front of the most fantastic view.

The world is a crazy place, Sunnyhill likes to offer an alternative to that

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesNov 2024

Nice place though we had some confusion about the pitch boundaries. We drastically over reached into an adjoining pitch. We shifted our awning the next morning. It was a very quiet place and I enjoyed 6 days of local cycling during the first week of November. Just off the A303, an easy find! Thanks.

Common sense and kindness please.

Respect each others space and privacy

Please don't be silly with the fire pits and respect peoples peace in the evenings.

We do open the bar on a Fri/Sat evening through the season but its generally an early night (10pmish) and not a nightclub raucous venue, most people don't want lots of noise late at night and the sound carries here, but some joy in a bar round a log burner is encouraged!

Please adhere to the 5MPH down the track and on the campsite.

Please bag up dog waste and keep them on leads.

Please don't leave children unattended especially near animals and their pens.

Please respect the 5 private residential mobile homes/cabins private garden spaces

Fabulous fishing lakes at Higher Farm coarse fishery are 15 minutes from the site, and Todbur Manor and Shearwater are also a short 20 minute drive away to vary your fishing experiences.

There are plenty of walks in the local woodland and across farmland. It's particularly challenging to head towards Alfred's Tower, which you can see from the site, but it's a longer walk than you think! I use the all trail app and share routes and prefer to walk back from the tower to the site...its all down hill then
