About The Miners Standard

This family and dog friendly site has an onsite pub, amazing views and is a great base for exploring all the Peak District has on offer! Located in the village of Winster guests can enjoy walks around the village or simply relax at the pub which serves up a range of delicious food and refreshing drinks and even offers a roast dinner with all the trimmings on a Sunday! The pub is home to a two acre camping field welcoming tents, caravans and motorhomes across 20 non electric grass pitches. For those looking for a hassle free stay, there are also bell tents on offer which sleep from two to six people and come equipped with double and single beds with bedding! With the historic market towns such as Bakewell and Matlock (15 minutes) in easy reach, as well as plenty of hikes and climbs with beautiful views, this site is a great choice for those wanting to enjoy all the Peak District has to offer. With campfires allowed, you can admire the stunning views while toasting some marshmallows. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the campsite and in the pub, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Facilities and amenities

There are onsite toilets as well as showers which are available for a small fee of £1 per use. There is also a washing up area for guests to use.

There is a pub onsite which serves a range of delicious food and drink and Winster village shop is just a ten minute walk away stocking all your essentials.

Well behaved dogs are welcome on the campsite and in the pub, but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please note, no dogs are allowed in the bell tents.

Campfires are also allowed.


Explore the quaint village of Winster, just a five minute walk away and pop into the historic Winster Market Hall dating back to the 17th century, while you're there.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the Derbyshire Dales and embark on the High Peak Trail (20 minutes), a 17.5 mile walking or cycling route that offers you the chance to explore some of the most beautiful countryside in Derbyshire.

With the town of Matlock just a 15 minute drive away there is lots on offer for guests to enjoy. Take the mountain cable car at Heights of Abraham (15 minutes) or soak up the views at the beautiful Lumsdale Waterfall (15 minutes).
