Borleymere is a dog friendly and adult only shepherd's hut for two people who want to get away from it all and have a bit of quiet time. Whether you want a short break, a romantic getaway or a longer self-catering holiday this rural idyll really is an escape from the rest of the world. This is true glamping!

Why you'll love it at Borleymere Shepherd's Hut

About the site

The shepherd's hut is set in its own grounds of several acres, situated in the beautiful Stour Valley on the Essex/Suffolk border. It opens onto a covered decking area looking out over the mere. It was hand built, using an oak chassis and traditional shepherd hut wheels. The emphasis has been on design quality and comfort. The accommodation is small but feels spacious with a very comfortable double bed, table and chairs, plenty of storage and a wood-burning stove. There are torches, lanterns and candles and it's a haven free from technology! Everything at the hut is designed to have a minimal impact on the environment. If you crave peace and quiet and just want to slow down, switch off and relax … if you want to lie in a hammock listening to the trees rustling and the birds singing … if you want to sit in the dinghy and watch the wildlife at play on the lake or enjoy glorious walks through the surrounding countryside, then this is the place to shoot the breeze with the one you love and enjoy some real quality time.

The site opens in the spring - usually the end of March - and closes at the end of October
