Woodrow's top ten favourite UK islands
We've always thought that there's something special about being somewhere that's surrounded by water. Maybe it's just our love of beautiful coastlines.
Do you like Woodrow's ten favourite UK islands as much as we do?
- Isle of Man - Famous for the TT motorcycle race and a slightly odd three-legged flag, the Isle of Man is an outdoor paradise.
- Isle of Wight - With quaint villages, stunning beaches, dinosaurs and Blackgang Chine, the Isle of Wight will keep the whole family busy.
- Isle of Skye, Inner Hebrides, Scotland - The largest of the Inner Hebrides, Skye is a haven for walkers and much more besides.
- Isle of Mull, Inner Hebrides, Scotland - Half the size of Skye, Mull's whales, dolphins and eagles make it one of the UK's best wildlife hotspots.
- Anglesey, Wales - Most recently known for homing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Anglesey has views to die for.
- Brownsea Island, Dorset - Home to our beloved red squirrels, the National Trust's Brownsea Island is a must see when visiting the Poole area.
- Lundy, North Devon - Unspoilt and tiny, Lundy Island is all about the wildlife and well worth a day trip even if you can't stay over.
- Skomer Island, Pembrokeshire - Puffins are the order of the day on Skomer. Just make sure you catch the Martin's Haven ferry nice and early.
- Lewis and Harris, Outer Hebrides, Scotland - The largest of the Outer Hebrides, Lewis and Harris are actually just one island. And wow, what scenery!
- Lindisfarne, Northumberland - Cut off by the tide and also known as Holy Island, Lindisfarne and its castle are steeped in history.
