Unsurprising the North Coast 500 is the winner. The route in the Scottish Highlands received over a third of the overall votes, undoubtedly for its rugged landscapes, stunning beaches, and off-track adventures.

The scenic 516 mile route takes you from Inverness to the Applecross Peninsula and onto Ullapool, Durness and the most northern point Dunnet Head.

From the magnificent Dunrobin Castle and Scotland's largest cave, Smoo Cave to beaches so beautiful it is hard to believe they are here in the UK, you can be sure to find plenty to see and do whether you have got a week or a month.
