Pembrokeshire National Park

Be bowled over by the beautiful scenery that waits to be discovered in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park which is Britain’s only coastal national park. An excellent way to explore this area is along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, a 186-mile long National Trail that offers incredible views its entire length and also passes through some charming towns and villages on the way. The park also offers fantastic cycling routes for navigating through nature on two wheels.

Oakwood Theme Park

Located in the village of Canaston Bridge, Oakwood Theme Park promises thrills for all visitors, from great heights and speed for adrenaline seekers, to water rides for family fun and exciting entertainments for very young visitors too. Megafobia is a key highlight, having been voted the UK’s best ride and the third best ride in the world.

Tenby

The seaside town of Tenby is a real treat to visit with an abundance of attractions and activities. Enjoy a delicious meal or browse the many wonderful shops or alternatively take a horse ride along the beach. You can also take to the seas for a short boat trip to nearby Caldey Island, step back in time with the Dinosaur Park or go wild at the Manor House Wildlife Park, the latter two of which are just a short drive from Tenby.

Skomer Island

There’s nothing like seeing wildlife in a wonderful natural location and you can do just that at Skomer Island. This island is a haven for a variety of birds including the likes of puffins, Manx shearwaters and guillemots but you can also spot grey seals and beautiful flora such as red campion and bluebells. You can choose to visit the island on a day trip or you can stay the night if you’d like to explore the island more fully.

Pembroke Castle

If you love ancient architecture then Pembroke Castle should definitely be on your itinerary during a visit to Pembrokeshire. Part of this fantastic fortress dates back as early as 1093. Wander through the exhibition rooms to discover the castle’s history or opt for an informative guided tour. You can try your hand at brass rubbing and also plan your visit to coincide with one of the excellent regular events such as dragon days and falconry displays.

Barafundle Bay

Pembrokeshire is famous for its beaches – wide stretches of sand and sparkling clear waters with beautiful backdrops of countryside and cliffs. Barafundle Bay is a perfect example of an ideal Pembrokeshire beach. Golden sand, crystal waters and miles of unspoilt coastal scenery – how does that sound? The beach is big so there is plenty of room for everyone. The nearest car park is a half a mile walk over the cliffs and there are no facilities at the beach so it remains untouched.

St Davids

The picturesque city of St Davids holds the distinction of being the smallest city in Britain. One of the key attractions is St Davids Cathedral, a beautiful building dating from the 12th century which is well worth visiting. Situated on the south west coast, St Davids is also excellent for beautiful beach strolls, with a number of beaches nearby.

Folly Farm

For top-notch family excitement Folly Farm is hard to beat with its indoor and outdoor play areas, go-kart track and super cute baby farm animals. In addition, the fantastic zoo enables you to see over 50 different species of exotic animals. Maybe you’ll ogle an ocelot, gawk at a giraffe or be amazed by an armadillo during a visit that will provide a great time for youngsters and adults.

Carew Castle and Tidal Mill

There are a host of attractions to entice you to at the impressive Carew Castle and Tidal Mill.You can explore Wales’s only restored tidal mill, admire an 11th century Celtic cross and take part in year-round events, not to mention the marvellous and substantial remains of the castle itself which is a spectacular sight to be seen.

Colby Woodland Garden

Situated near Amroth is the stunning Colby Woodland Garden which is ideal for relaxing strolls and a charming picnic location. Kids can get into the swing of things with activities such as rope swings, tree climbing and building dens and the contrasting areas such as woodland, the wildflower meadow and the formal garden will delight adults and children alike.
