The quaint seaside town of Bognor Regis on the idyllic shores of West Sussex has a surprisingly long list of things to do for a small town. 1. Bognor Regis Pier

Since it first opened in 1865, the Bognor Regis Pier (pictured above) has been a focal point along the seafront and a hub for locals and tourists. The Grade II listed building now houses arcade games, a bar and snooker club and even a nightclub, ClubV.

2. Bognor Birdman

Bognor Birdman, a free annual event held at the Bognor Regis pier, attracts thousands of visitors every summer. The Birdman is a competition between human powered flight machines. The machines and their flyers, including Richard Branson in 2003, often take part to raise money for charity.

3. Hotham Park

This park, located just east of the town centre, was once a part of the estate belonging to Bognor’s founder, Sir Richard Hotham. Today, Hotham Park is a thriving, modern patch of countryside, complete with a boating lake, crazy golf course, mini railway and playgrounds for the kids.

4. Bognor Regis Museum

Situated on West Street at the former Berkeley Arms open house is the Bognor Regis Museum. Step back in time to explore the town’s seaside past and the life of its people. Fascinating exhibitions include wireless and television models from the 1920s onwards.

Travel to Bognor Regis’ most popular beach, which is just a short walk away from many of the town’s campsites around Lidsey Street and Shripney Road. 10. Marine Park Gardens

After a long day of dashing around the beach, head slightly inland to the Marine Park Gardens for a little relaxation amongst its colourful flower beds and water features. While you give your feet a much needed rest, the park’s 18-hole putting green will keep any active youngsters amused.
