Planning a visit to Cornwall and seeking some inspiration for places to visit? Well you’re definitely going to want to bring your camera along to these ten extraordinary places to see in Cornwall.

1. The Minack Theatre

The Minack Theatre is a visual treat in more ways than one. Not only can you see a variety of shows as well as a striking coastal garden but this open-air theatre has a spectacular seaside position too. Situated on the side of a cliff at Porthcurno, this theatre provides a beautiful view of the ocean that is sure to impress just as much as the shows and garden will.

2. St Michael's Mount

Situated off the coast of Cornwall, St Michael’s Mount is a picturesque island with its very own village, medieval castle and pretty sub-tropical gardens. 3. The Eden Project

The Eden Project is sure to delight nature lovers young and old with the largest rainforest conservatory in the world, as well as an enticing Mediterranean biome and striking outdoor gardens. If you’re keen for a burst of adrenaline have a ride on England’s longest zip wire and there are also lots of fun activities to entertain adults and children alike.

4. The Lizard peninsula

The most southern part of Britain’s mainland, the Lizard peninsula is sure to wow with its incredible natural beauty. There are many beautiful beaches to spend a lazy afternoon at, such as Kynance Cove, while Helford River and the surrounding woodland are also a great location for leisurely strolls. If you have an interest in history and technology, the Marconi Centre at Poldhu as well as the Lizard Wireless Station are both well worth visiting.

5. Bodmin Jail

For an attraction with a difference spend some time at Bodmin Jail which dates from 1779. Luckily, instead of doing hard labour or facing a bleak future in a tiny cell, you have the freedom to roam and explore. You can take a break at the restaurant or bar where you’re sure to enjoy refreshments that are infinitely better than those the jail’s former residents received. The jail is reputed to be haunted and if you’re feeling brave enough you may want to participate in an overnight ghost walk.

6. The Museum of Witchcraft

If supernatural beings of a different nature appeal to you, the Museum of Witchcraft in Boscastle is sure to leave you spellbound. The museum houses the largest collection of witchcraft artefacts and regalia in the world. It’s important to bear in mind that some of the exhibits may not be suitable for young children but there is lots to delight and enchant visitors of all ages.

7. Isles of Scilly

You’d be forgiven for thinking you’d ended up in the wrong place when you visit the Isles of Scilly. These islands, which look like they belong somewhere in the Caribbean rather than off the coast of Cornwall, offer an enticing blend of incredible scenery, a mild climate and wonderful wildlife, all of which is sure to delight visitors.

8. Trebah Garden

Considered one of the 80 best gardens in the world, Trebah Garden will amaze with its diverse array of landscapes and abundance of colours. The garden is open daily and is a great location to visit in any season. In addition, the play area and children’s trails will have kids eager to explore, while the private beach offers fun in the sun for both younger and older visitors.

9. Bodmin Moor

Magnificently rugged and breathtakingly beautiful, Bodmin Moor is a sight not to be missed if you want to be awed by nature. The moor is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site resulting from its mining history. In addition to its exceptional natural beauty, the moor is home to a number of ancient stone circles such as the Trippet Stones which are sure to intrigue visitors as well.

10. Bedruthan Steps

The view from the top of the cliff overlooking the Bedruthan Steps is one of the best in Cornwall. Bedruthan beach with its collection of sea stacks is an unforgettable sight and can be accessed via a steep set of stairs that lead down from the cliff onto the sand.
