3. Take a trip to a museum

One such reserve is Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its assortment of flora. Another great option situated at the northern end of Bodmin is the Priddacombe Downs Nature Reserve. Some of the attractions within the nature reserve include a Bronze Age cairn as well as ancient standing stones.

5. Have fun with history

Anyone who is interested in ancient architecture should make their way to St Catherine’s Castle which is a pair of artillery forts dating from the 1530s. St Catherine’s Castle was constructed on the orders of Henry VIII in order to defend Fowey Harbour. There are two storeys, with gun ports on the ground floor and the first floor level.

6. Head out for an arty adventure

Art lovers can also enjoy a free day out exploring their passion courtesy of a visit to the Tate Gallery St Ives. Visitors can take a guided tour of the gallery to gain more insight into it and there are free events held at various times throughout the year.
