About Red Deer Village Holiday Park

Set in a prime location, the site is ideally situated for days out exploring all that Glasgow and the Clyde Valley have to offer. Just off of the A80, you will be well placed for venturing further afield too, with Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park within an hour's drive. For tent campers, the site offers 12 spacious grass pitches in the top field, eight of which have the option of electric hook up. All of the pitches welcome up to six guests, with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy some peace and quiet. If travelling in your tourer, there is a great choice of pitches to choose from. Simply decide whether you would rather be in the top or bottom field, would like a surrounding grass area, or if you need to bring your awning along. All of the pitches also enjoy access to the communal picnic benches and BBQ pits, great for nights in the open. Four legged friends are welcome to join you for your stay, with up to two allowed per pitch. Frankfield Loch is just next door to the site and Hogganfield Loch a mile away, both offering some glorious waterside walks. The site has been the winner of many awards. Previous achievements include the Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award, five stars from the Scottish Tourism Board and many team members have also received the British Holiday and Home Parks Association Customer Service Excellence award.

Red Deer Village Holiday Park is open from 04/01 to 20/12 in 2024 and from 06/01 to 18/12 in 2025.

A note from the site themselves...

We're delighted to have succeeded in achieving the David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature! We achieved the Everyone Active challenge, by encouraging park residents to participate in gardening and photography competitions and sharing our efforts through social media.

We have also successfully achieved the bronze wild challenge medal from the RSPB! The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds set out challenges to encourage people to get involved in nature. These may be small things to help wildlife thrive, or exciting ways on how to experience the outdoors.

Motorhome - Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Sep 2024

Stayed for 2 nights but the site needs a lot of TLC. The hardstanding for the Motorhome was uneven and on a slope, so not great for those who have hired one and don't have all the levelling equipment. The facilities had small sinks and one shower for women - there was only one block to use as the other one was closed. The signs for waste disposal lead to the closed block. Appeared to be no place to recycle food waste either, so we gave up with those. It's quite a walk to the train station but manageable. It's not a site we would recommend as I feel there are others that are far better.

Site's response

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry you didn't find the pitch level enough for you, this is not something that has been brought to our attention before, especially at our bottom pitches, however we would have been happy to move you if you had let us know. With regards to the showers, it has not been the best situation the past week as our main toilet / shower block was out of order, this meant there were less showers available than usual. We did open the disabled room to allow for a further shower / toilet to try and ease the queuing. Chemical cisposal could have been done at the grey water area at the entrance to the Holiday Park (this is marked on the map sent to you via email). There were staff around all day on the Monday you were here, we could have assisted you with these things had you let us know. It's disappointing to read you would not recommend our site and hope you may return in the future and change your feelings about us.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024

I missed a kitchen room where we can cook or can play the family cards. The laundry was free of charge.

Site's response

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, no we do not have a kitchen on site, only dishwashing facilities, although this is advertised.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding with Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Site's response

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad you found our location a good spot for getting into Glasgow. With regards to the toilet / shower block. There is a larger facility just a short walk from the one you have mentioned which has more toilets and showers to use. Hopefully you will visit us again sometime.
