Beautiful place, only downside was being woken at 2am to what sounded like rally bikes. It was very noisy and we couldn’t sleep after that.

Everything was gorgeous and clean and new looking and I think the pictures don’t do it service! Super impressed! We stayed so we could have a big day out at Stockheld so great location!

As this is our first venture into caravaning we can’t judge against any other. The site is very quiet and clean, the shower block is really nice, with added use of washing machine and dryer, at additional cost, There is a play area for children and location is ideal for York

Clean campsite not far from York city centre. Helpful staff, shower cubicles, toilets and separate sinks with overhead mirrors. Set in lovely peaceful woodland area near main road but not noisy. Walkable to Woodthorpe (20mins) with Tesco Express, pub and curry takeaway. Would go again.

Nice enough site, quite remote, Bus Stop 15 mins walk to get to york but only run every hour, Pitches just a little bit close to each other but we had a nice quiet stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights and it's definitely somewhere we will look to stay again. A very clean, quiet and compact site. Decent park of the kids and plenty in the surrounding areas to do.

The lighting to go to the shower block was very poor, needs more lights up to the showers and toilets. The whole campsite was very dark, felt it needs more lights.

We booked a 2 night stay and it was fine for what we needed. It's a bit remote for accessing York, although not far to a bus stop you have to cross busy main roads. Nearest Pub is a mile away, the one in Askham Bryan is down a country lane but there are no footpaths for the majority of the time. The other is in the opposite direction and accessed through a housing estate.

Very quiet, clean site with good shower/toilet block. Numerous clean water points around the site. Easy to get to off the main roads with easy travel into York and surrounding areas. Will book to go again in the future.

I stayed on this site in my VW Campervan - and it is a great site! I was here for 5 nights, and it was incredibly peaceful. The facilities are perfect - shower block with toilets, washing up area and also a washing machine (£2) and tumble drier (40p) It also has fresh water areas and Elsan points. The plots were a great size and although its a tightly packed area, you still have your privacy on your plot. Quite a large site overall with a nice little shop. Very good area for going into York City, a Tesco Extra only 7 minutes drive away.

They were very pleasant at reception. It was a lovely clean site didn't have no problems finding it. The toilets and showers were very clean we enjoyed our stay there it very peaceful. I would recommend it.

Lovely stay, excellent facilities. One of the best I've stayed on in the UK. Close to York and park and ride. Friendly manager and family orientated site. Kids loved it, one hid in the trees as she wanted to stay 😂

Our first experience of camping was at Nurseries and it couldn't have been better. Clear information was given about the site and the receptionist re-opened the shop so that we could get some milk onside rather than go to the supermarket. Shower and toilet facilities were good and clean. It was lovely to be on a site with so many trees to provide shade on a very hot weekend. Very convenient for the centre of York.

We only stayed one night. It was short notice as we were taking our caravan for its service. The staff are so kind and friendly. We needed to arrive slightly later than advertised and leave earlier than site times. They accommodated us and gave us a pitch with easy access, no problem. The site itself is lovely and has a lovely woodland feel. Facilities are clean and well maintained. I was sad to leave. We will definitely be back.

We only had three days to visit, we came to visit family and stayed with them one night so were on site for two nights. It was very peaceful and pleasant and the weather was a help as we could sit out for meals in peace.

The site was nicely located amongst woodland and conveniently accessible to York. Our only observation was there only being three shower cubicles for the entire site. We would happily return.

A former tree nursery - the place is partly in the middle of the forest. We had two very nice nights. The pitches are very large, gravel with a piece of meadow next to them. There are big trees everywhere that provide shade. Every site has electricity and many even have their own water. We received a very warm welcome and there is also a small kiosk at the reception. The sanitary facilities are clean and well-equipped. Unfortunately it wasn't particularly warm due to the open design and the door that didn't close well. You can walk to a bus stop in 15 minutes - you have to cross some busy streets on the way. Not so nice. You can get to the centre in just over half an hour by bus. Great for a few nights, we wouldn't stay longer, also because you can clearly hear the street nearby. Oh yes, and there is a great playground for children! Translated from German.

Very nice and spacious campsite, very friendly host. Only small thing would be that it's close to the road so you will hear the road a bit but that's only because it is a perfectly quiet camping.

Had a mechanical issue with our motorhome which meant we had to move our planned dates. Contacted the site and they were happy to help us. The site is very clean and well maintained. The dog walk is excellent. Access to cycle route into and around York was very convenient. International campers also stay here, particularly German and Dutch.
