About Downshay Farm

This family friendly camping and glamping site offers an idyllic, peaceful stay in the stunning Dorset countryside, just ten minutes from Swanage and the coast. Guests can relax and unwind with stunning views over the valley, the Swanage Steam Railway and Corfe Castle. Tent and small campervan campers can pitch up on one of the site's 60 non electric grass pitches, each spread across the slopped camping fields. The site also has 12 electric grass touring pitches (a 25m lead is required), which are suitable for caravans, campervans, motorhomes and trailer tents. The pitches are located on a lawned terrace site spread across three levels with private tarmac access. If glamping is more up your street, then the site also has a bell tent and a shepherd's hut, each offering a little slice of luxury. The Daffodil bell tent sleeps up to four people with a cosy wood double bed and two single camp beds. Inside you will also find electric, a kettle, teas, coffees, sugar and milk. There is a washing up bowl, a torch, crockery, an electric cool box and ice packs. A bed sheet is included and bedding can be provided at an additional cost. Outside the bell tent you will find your own fire pit, BBQ and table and chairs, perfect for evenings of al fresco dining. A camping kitchen including a gas hob, kettle, pots and pans can also be added for an extra charge. The Keepers Hut is a charming shepherd's hut, sleeping two in a comfortable double bed. The hut comes equipped with a kettle, toaster, Tassimo machine, teas, coffees, sugar and milk. There is crockery, glassware, cutlery, an electric cool box, ice packs, washing liquid, hand soap and hand sanitiser. Bedding is provided. You will also have your own fire pit, great for roasting marshmallows under the stars, along with a BBQ, gas hob, pans and a table and chairs outside. There is also room to pitch a tent in the small garden outside for the same rate as the non electric grass pitches. BBQs and raised fire pits are welcome, just no ground campfires. Dogs are allowed, just please ensure they are on a lead.

The campsite is open for 10 days over the late May bank holiday and from mid July-1st September. The caravan site is open from the 1st of April-1st November. Glamping is available for May half term and the summer holidays.
