End a great day in Barnstaple by checking out one of the great restaurants on offer in the town, which serve up a range of locally grown produce. Those without kids can hit the pubs afterwards and catch some live music.
Nearby you'll find the seaside resort of Westward Ho!, which has a fantastic beach (with mini golf!) and is particularly popular during the summer months. Bideford, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Croyde are also all close at hand.
