About Twitey's Camping and Glamping Meadows
Just between Royal Leamington Spa and the famous Stratford-upon-Avon is this peaceful countryside campsite, ideal for a relaxing break. Guests can enjoy lovely views of the tempting countryside around, with the beautiful Cotswolds just 20 minutes away.
The site is set across 14 acres of wildflower meadows, with circular camping pitches measuring 10-14 metres in diameter with neat pathways mown in. The staff try to let the unmown parts of the meadow grow freely, so campers feel they are staying in the heart of nature. Pitches are well spaced and each has its own fire pit for a lovely cook out in the evening.
If glamping is more your style, there is plenty to choose from. There are two bell tents each sleeping up to four, kitted out with a double and two single mattresses, bottom sheets, pots, pans and a fire starter kit.
Each of the yurts also accommodates up to four with a king size bed, along with two single memory foam mattresses, bedding, towels, cooking utensils, pots and pans. Outside is a garden area with a covered kitchen, gas stove, seating and a fire pit.
The Garden Yurt is located on a raised decking near the main facilities in the upper meadow, with the addition of a private garden, electric socket and mini fridge. Kestrel and Falcon Yurts are located close to each other with a picnic table under a canopy and no electric.
Ideal for a romantic break is the shepherd's hut. Sleeping up to two adults, the hut comes with a double bed, bedding, soft furnishing, solar lights and a wood burner to keep you toasty. Outside is also a covered kitchen with a gas stove, along with a raise fire pit.
The campsite shop sells logs, kindling food and camping supplies. There is also a seating area to enjoy a little coffee and cake to start your day right. There is extra seating available in the room next door for eating and relaxing. The kitchen area has a hot plate, microwave and fridge/freezer space.
Campfires are allowed with each pitch having a fire pit. Disposable BBQs are not permitted onsite.
Assistance dogs are allowed by pre booking. No other dogs are permitted.
Twitey's Camping and Glamping Meadows is open from 19/03 to 31/10.

A note from the site themselves...
What we have enjoyed about this site is the diversity of campers' and their modes of transport from cars, bikes, motorbikes, taxis and hardy walkers. We are also allowing the site to re-wild itself and have also planted hundreds of native trees and wild-flower seeds.
We get regular visits from Jays, buzzards, kite, deer, foxes and badgers and many others. We recently had a white stag on site and barn owls too.
We stayed in the adult area, in the Shepherd's Hut for three nights over the August Bank Holiday. The hut looks over the campsite, set back from the family camping area in an orchard.
The hut was brilliant. Large, supportive, squishy mattress (I have a moody back, and still slept so comfortably), table and chairs outside with the fire pit, table and chairs on the deck for showery times and table and chairs inside for downpours.
The composting toilet was easy to use, and there are standard loos a minute's walk away. The shower was warm and powerful. The kitchen was well-equipped and organised.
The thoughtful touches include: lots of wood, firelighters and matches, a welcome basket with lovely rolls, cereal, milk, coffee, waffles, marshmallows and more! Vase of wild flowers, cosy blankets and useful towels, torches, ice box and charger packs.
We arrived as if we were going to a hotel, with a weekend bag. Plus, we brought food basics.
The shop is well stocked with things you might need. Good quality basics and (essential) ice. We had Luca's Pizza one night - absolutely delicious dough, toppings and dips. Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten.
We walked out from the campsite each day to the farm shop, market and National Trust, mainly walking along a quiet road (avoid the main road though - that is scary - there is a path through a field!)
The staff were helpful and lovely. I would definitely stay again to enjoy the hut, sunsets, relaxed atmosphere and fresh air.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2023
Probably the best campsite I've been to. Beautifully looked after spaces and attention to all the details that make staying really easy - like a well-stocked shop, including fresh coffee, and everything for starlit campfires and happy lazing.
Each tent has an individually mown, generously sized circle creating a private feel among nature. Cars are left in the main yard and ample wheelbarrows are available to transport kit to your chosen pitch, creating a mini-festival feel. Everywhere is impressively clean and well looked after. If you have friends who are a little squeamish about camping, this is the place to bring them to allay their fears. A wonderful place to while away a few days, and get to know the surrounding area.

Things to do on site and in the Wellesbourne area
Warwickshire is packed with places to visit and see and the site is close to the borders of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire, so everywhere you turn, there's something to enjoy. Even the idyllic Cotswolds are only 12 miles away.
Just a mile from the site is the National Trust's Charlecote House, a Victorian marvel, and its stunning deer park. Then on to Warwick Castle which is run by the team behind The Tower of London with the same level of interactive entertainment. Every day there are displays, demonstrations and falconry shows so it really brings history to life.
Stratford-upon-Avon is a paradise for visitors, with winding riverside streets, and so much of Shakespeare's life and story are brought to life there. The RSC Theatre is the place to see the bard's plays done right, and cheap tickets are available for daytime matinees.
In Coventry you must make time for the Heritage Motor Museum for a journey through vehicle history from horse carriages up to the top cars of today.
Other top local attractions within easy driving distance are:
Hidcote and Kiftsgate Gardens
Chedhams Yard
Compton Verney
Ragley Hall
Hill Close Gardens
