The site is only ten minutes from East Preston and Goring beach. There are also numerous activities at select times throughout the year, including workshops and bird displays.
Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead whilst on the campsite.

Facilities and amenities
Onsite facilities include five female and three male toilets, urinals, gas powered camp showers and an indoor and outdoor washing up area - all spotlessly clean. There is a small shop onsite selling logs and fire lighting tools, along with items such as toothbrushes and batteries, as well as a tuck shop which sells sweets and ice lollies.
A vehicle with low impact tyres is available on site for those taking large loads of equipment (and two passengers) for an extra charge. Cars are otherwise parked down a central track running halfway into the wood, with plenty of forest to play in without the worry of cars beyond that.
A local pub, The Fox, with a full outside play area is just a five minute walk from the main entrance. The Worlds End pub is also only a 15 minute walk away. Shops, supermarkets and more are available at Durrington nearby.

A note from the site themselves...
As far as we're concerned, there's nothing quite like the feeling of camping with a campfire under the woodland canopy here at Fox Wood. We're all about the campfires!
Ours is a family focused site, set in a really special oak forest within the South Downs National Park. Our woodland glade pitches are perfect for groups of families and have a secluded feel, and there is lots of space and no cars (just handy wheelbarrows!), so it's perfect for letting children loose to explore and build dens.
We love the wealth of wildlife you'll find here, including resident deer, buzzards, tawny owls and hedgehogs - not to mention all the song birds and the dragonflies around the pond edge. And when you're ready for something different, we're only 10 minutes from the nearest beach!
Scattered grass tent pitches measuring 6m x 4m, based around fire pits in the heart of an oak woodland. Areas have the capacity to house multiple tents, so you can arrange friends and family to join you around the fire at night.
Other accommodation
2 x Meadow Campervan Pitches
Max 5 people
Grass non electric pitches for campervans only.
Bell Tent
Max 4 people
A private path leading to a secluded forest glade and 4m bell tent with one double and two singles. Outside, a large covered dining area and a campfire with additional seating. Share facilities nearby. Bedding and crockery are not provided. Sorry, no pets
Lovely campsite, you can choose your own pitch from sunny meadows or woodlands. Plenty of parking and wheelbarrows to move all your belongings to your pitch - if you opt for one deeper in the woods they offer a buggy service!
At the main entrance all the facilities and shop can be found. Indoor & outdoor washing up facilities with large sinks and plenty of space to dry up. Variety of washing facilities- single cubicle showers & larger family rooms all easily accessible. Toilet block is clean & well maintained. The pitches are of a great size, plenty of space for a large tent & shelter, the fire pit is a useful addition that contains fire perfectly for cooking purposes or just for marshmallow toasting!
The owners are always on hand to aid with any questions & offer their help as needed. The play area is well maintained with a great rope swing & slide which the kids spent hours on!

Bell Tent - Bell TentAug 2023
We loved the Fox Wood campsite. All staff were so friendly and helpful.
Our bell tent was spacious, clean and very comfortable, set aside very privately, with easy parking. The outdoor dining area included a storage unit for our cooking equipment and food, plenty of seating around a dining table, camping chairs and a campfire. The path to the tent was lit up with fairy lights at night, which was a nice touch. The toilets were very clean, showers were really powerful with plenty of hot water. Washing-up sinks available outside and inside also had hot water and you could refill drinking water, too.
The site shop provided all essential firewood and little treats. We had fun on a swing and a slide, played football and badminton on the green field, too. There's a lovely wood walk just a minute away and a country pub serving delicious food, for which you can get a discount if you are a Fox Wood guest. We really appreciated the early check-in and the late checkout, which allowed us to make the absolute most of our stay. Thank you for a perfect holiday.

Medium Tent - Woodland PitchesAug 2023
Such a gorgeous woodland campsite. It looked pretty fully booked by the time we left. But you don't feel cramped or massively overlooked. It's very well thought out. There are lots of glades marked out by fire pits.
We camped at the back on the left hand side. There is some faint road noise. But you'll be hard-pressed to avoid that. There is a small shop selling wood and ice lollies etc. Toilets are very well thought out. Each loo in the ladies has a kids seat hung on the wall. There is a bench to wait on. Indoor and outdoor washing up. Decent showers.
My top tip is to get fairy lights for your tent. It gets quite dark at night and we wouldn't have found our tent if it weren't for the fairy lights.
Kids loved the rope swing. A second one would be even better as there was a huge queue on the Friday night.

Things to do on site and in the Patching area
The woodland is a super natural playground for the children and there are so many places to explore on the South Downs. Turn left out of the gate and onto a single track dead end lane and then off into 1,300 acres of private estate with footpaths and bridleways.
There are various activities onsite, running at various times throughout the year, including flight displays, family workshops and more.
The beach at Goring-by-Sea is the ideal day out for families, with plenty of retro charm and ice creams on hand to help you cool off.
The town of Worthing is also close by and offers a sparkling pier full of amusements.
The historical town of Arundel is also close with the castle and walks around the bird sanctuary at the Wetlands Trust.
Other great things to see and do include:
Leonardslee Garden
Highdown Gardens
West Wittering beach
