A note from the site themselves...
Having started off as a five pitch touring site, we're really proud of how much we've grown! During our closed months we kept making improvements and even designed and built our glamping lodges, and guests tell us what we are doing is great!
We love sharing our location and it's great being able to walk off the site to shops, bars, cafes and the famous Waterfalls Trail. We have a small sheep farm too, so the sheep and lambs in the pastures surrounding the site are ours.
Our daughter Ella keeps a farm blog for guests to enjoy. It's also lovely enjoying the seasons around the farm and site, with the support of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust in 2007 we planted over 8000 trees on the land around the site, they are now maturing and the wildlife including Roe deer have now made it their habitat too.
Hardstanding with 16 amp electric for campervans up to length 6m. This pitch is around 130m from the amenity block with limited grass surrounding it.

27 x Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches

We stayed at Thornbrook Barn for 2 nights this week and absolutely loved the place.
It is pristine throughout and in beautiful surroundings. We had pitch 41, which looked out onto the grassed area at the side of the lodges with sheep grazing in the next field. Just so idealistic.
The owners should be so pleased of the quality they have achieved at Thornbrook Barn and it will certainly be getting another visit from us this summer.
Everything is to hand. You can even borrow DVD's from the information room to watch if you wish. Such a great idea.
There's even a dog exercising field for your furbaby to have a run in too. The toilet and shower block are spotless and are cleaned everyday regardless.
An absolutely amazing place and highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

Wow! Thank you for your most delightful review. Spring is a great time to visit Thornbrook Barn when you can see the sheep and lambs in the adjacent fields and enjoy the trees coming in to leaf and the blossom on the wild cherry trees that surround the site. We really appreciate you taking the time to write the review and we look forward to having you stay with us again later in the season. Sandra & Alan

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesDec 2023
This was our first visit to Thornbrook Barn. The site is very spacious, the facilities are modern and spotlessly clean. We stayed on a fully serviced pitch, which was very spacious with fantastic views over Ingleborough.
It is central for visiting Malham, Ingleton, Kirby Lonsdale, Hawes and many more picturesque villages and towns with numerous different walks, including the three peaks.
Our battery went flat on us, but Alan let us use his charger, which was a godsend, especially over the Christmas/New Year period. The booking process was so easy and Sandra kept us updated on progress. Everyone on site was very friendly with attentive owners and staff.
We cannot wait to visit again and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.
Site's response
Thanks for the 5* ratings and for your lovely comments. We are pleased that Alan could assist you during your stay with your leisure battery.
Looking forward to having you stay with us in some better weather.
Sandra
We have just come back from this lovely campsite. Words cannot describe how lovely this site is. First time visit and most definitely not the last.
No check in, you receive pitch number through email (we were on pitch 41). Pitches big and amenities block lovely and clean with piped music. Really quiet and peaceful, lovely views and nice walk to the village.
Harvest Country Store over the road from the entrance is fab. It has a gift shop, coffee shop and butchers and bread etc and wasn't hard to cross the road.
Hopefully be back next year.

Things to do on site and in the Ingleton area
Walkers will enjoy the challenging Three Peaks Walk, 24.5 miles at once - or a peak each day for three days - it's your choice! Whernside is the highest at 736m, followed by Ingleborough at 723m, and Pen-y-Ghent at 694m.
There are plenty of other strolls and hikes locally too. The nearest valley is Kingsdale, from which you can access Whernside on a long circular walk returning via Swales Moor, or the shorter Kingsdale circuit (10 minutes) which takes in the fantastic limestone scenery with its 'pots' and caves.
A more strenuous walk would be stepping over into Lancashire taking in Gragareth - one of the highest mountains in the area.
The Pennine Bridleway-Yorkshire Dales section can be accessed at Clapham (15 minutes) along a quiet B road. There is also a local trail known as The Crummock Dale Dabs Mountain Bike route from there, while Ingleton is a great base for caving, abseiling, climbing, and other adventure sports.
Around half an hour away, Hawes offers a tour of the Wensleydale Cheese Factory, the cheese that Wallace and Gromit made famous.
Other local attractions include:
Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (5 minutes)
White Scar Cave (10 minutes)
Inglebrough Cave (15 minutes)
Ribblehead Viaduct (15 minutes)
Dent (30 minutes)
